Week 16 - Redesign. Rebuild. Reclaim.

Hello everyone! welcome back to another blog entry for this week but unfortunately this will be the last blog entry for my blog. Sad life but it is what it is we need to move forward for the next journey of our entire lives. Every week this is one of our requirements in our Internship subject class every Saturday so I promised to myself from the start of the semester that I will not gonna miss any blog entries each week and luckily I didn't skipped posting blog entries every week. Yes, I did that for almost 16 weeks. All in all my blog entries for this blog is composed of 16 blog entries. I have consistency in doing this kind of things because since I was in high school I used to post blog entries in my tumblr account. I used that platform to express my thoughts and experiences throughout my high school days. I share my thoughts and heartbreak moments also on my tumblr account but now it's all gone because I forgot my password on my account but I'll try to make a new one if I have a time to do it. My final blog entry will be about my experiences and the things that I learned during my internship in Daniel O. Mercado Medical Center so without further ado, let's start this blog entry!

But first last Monday we prepared the things that we need for "Buntis Day" which it happened last Tuesday. We picked up the chairs for the participants of the event and the food and drinks. Last Tuesday, The "Buntis Day" happened and there are a lot of pregnant mommies that participated in the event. There are 2 doctors that gave a lecture for the pregnant mommies and also the guest speaker all the way from Pasig City, Ms. Chiqui Brosas. She discussed a lot of important things for the pregnant mommies like for example on how to take care of their babies and the time that they'll gonna give birth to their babies. and after the event, We ate lunch together with Miss Chiqui and we talked a lot of things like the hospital itself, her life, etc. And after that she said goobye to us and went back to Pasig. And after the events last week and this week, for the last 2 days we did nothing in the office (rest day? 😂) but I photocopied some memos and laminated signage for the Nursing Office and CSR. and after last Thursday was indeed one of the most memorable days that happened to my life haha. 3.16.17 has been marked on my calendar because I met my new friend and we ate together at isawan 😂 and I hope that is not the last time that we'll gonna do it and she promised me that it will not be the last time. There's more to come 😊...

There are a lot of things that I learned during my internship at Daniel O. Mercado Medical Center. Some simple things like for example; how to operate a photocopy machine. Now I know how to operate it. And also one of my weaknesses; how to socialize with other people. I prefer to be alone because I'm used to it and right now because of my internship I learned how to socialize with other people. One of my weaknesses turned into strength real quick. And also during my internship I enhanced my communication skills not just on talking to people personally but also through telephone calls. Sir Ronnel taught us how to greet through calls and don't forget to smile even though you're interacting through phone but still you need to smile 😊. I learned also how to organize an events inside and outside the hospital. It's exhausting but I enjoyed it because I experienced how to prepare the things that we need and the flow of the program/event itself. Thanks to Ms. Cris for that. She's very nice to me all throughout my internship at DMMC. And also to Ms. Leah for the funny moments at the office because everyday she's joking around and the reason of that is because of her intern and her name is May. She's very jolly and energetic. Her trademark is the way she laugh and she's always singing at our office. And also I would like to thank Sir Ronnel (Buddy! 😃) because he accepted me here in Daniel O. Mercado Medical Center as an intern and also the funny moments together with Jayson (because of his english accent 😂) and to all employees of Daniel O. Mercado Medical Center, Thank you very much for the warm welcome not just for me but also to my co-interns in different departments.

"Redesign. Rebuild. Reclaim." That's the title of my final blog entry because there's a meaning behind it. The first one is "Redesign". Redesign? The things that I like to "Redesign" are first; myself. Well way back in my 1st-2nd year college I used to be "easy go lucky" type of guy because for example the exam is tomorrow, I'll study the day of the exam and after the exam, the result? FAILED. But when I'm on my 3rd year college and it was 2nd semester, I became studious because that was the first time that I learned something interesting in my course because in 1st year college I didn't understand the concept behind the word "marketing" All I know way back then, Marketing is to market a product, Advertise it to the people. But when Ms. Anna came in, There's a deep meaning of the word "MARKETING" and a lot of authors have different meanings of the word but the well known is Philip Kotler. The next one is "Rebuild". Rebuild in terms of the laziness because when I wake up in the morning, I used to spend 30 mins in my bed because I'm checking my phone and scrolling through my facebook, twitter and instagram. I changed that routine. And also in terms of deadlines. I used to work on my paper works hours before the deadline but now I also changed that I'm now working my paper works in advance like for example the deadline is next week, Sunday night, I'm now working on it so that there are no overload of work and to feel relaxed in the same way because I finished all of it a week before the deadline. And lastly "Reclaim". Reclaim what? Well I don't know as of now but the thing is those 3Rs (Redesign. Rebuild. Reclaim.) really changed my perspective in life and thanks to Seth Rollins for creating those words of wisdom. (for those who don't know Seth Rollins he's a wrestler and a great entertainer).

Well, I talked a lot in this blog entry but I received a news that this is not the final blog entry so the REAL final blog entry is next week. So for those whose asking, I'll gonna post something interesting next week. You want some spoiler? Well here you go. "JOB OFFER"! Yes you read it right. I was informed this week that I might absorbed in the company. But I'll gonna talk about that next week. Well I just want to say that from the bottom of my heart thank you DMMC for the wonderful time and the memories that I've shared together with my co-interns, employees and supervisors. Thank you for accepting me. God bless You all! 😭😊

As of right now, I rendered 579 hours in my internship at Daniel O. Mercado Medical Center and I only have 91 hours left to finish my internship and my end date of my internship is on April 4, 2017. And that's it for Week 16 and make sure you visit and read my blog for next week's blog entry because it's interesting and also follow me on my social media accounts; the widgets are on the right side of my blog so make sure you hit the follow button and I'll see you all next week! Have a nice weekend everyone!! ✌

Week 15 - Trust the process

Hello everyone! I hope everyone is having an amazing week just like me and this week is all about preparing for the "Parade of Lights" celebration of Tanauan City Batangas and every company/establishments are preparing their floats with lights on them and DMMC is one of the participants in the said event. All week long we're preparing and fixed the lights and decorated the float. So without further ado, Let's start this "Parade of Lights" week preparation!

From Monday to Wednesday we're all preparing the materials that we need for the float. The materials are different kinds of lights (christmas lights, LED lights, drop down lights, spotlight, etc.) decorations like artificial grass, spray paint, flowers, etc. and other materials like staple wires, tucker, tape, wires, glitters, glue, cotton, costumes of the characters and etc. For 3 days we already started to fixed and decorated the float.

Thursday. We went to Divisoria to buy other materials and decorations that we needed for the float. It's my first time to go to Divisoria and I think that will be the first and last that I'll come to that place because it's so crowded ( I expected that) and it's too hot there. We bought bluetooth speaker, another lights because we need more for the float, storage boxes, and decorations like artificial plants like grass, flowers, etc. And it's my first time to eat ramen! 😋 not bad for a first timer because it was good and also it's my first time to use chopsticks 😌 So here are some photos of our adventure in Divisoria:

Good morning!! :)

I rendered almost 12 hours last Thursday and It was worth it because I need to rush my internship hours because the deadline is on April 7, 2017 according to the Palaestra Consortio Office. And right now I rendered 538 hours and I only have 132 hours to finish my internship. I believe this is the most hectic, exhausting week that I've been through in my internship but it was worth it because of the fun memories and adventures that we've spent this week. The good thing is my co interns from other department helped us to fixed and decorated the float because we can't do it by the 5 of us. Thank you to my co interns and people from HR, Nursing Division and Laboratory 😇  Good bless You All!

"Trust the Process", I got that title of this week's blog to the NBA player Joel Embiid of the Philadelphia 76ers because his team was not too good but when they started winning games (above 10 wins) he said "Trust the Process" because the future of that team was definitely in good hands because they have a talented roster and potential to be All Stars and claim the NBA Championship (maybe? but the Lakers are better 😅) but that team is good no doubt but enough of that talk, We go back to the title of the blog; Trust the process because I only have few weeks to finish my internship and I'm getting closer to reach it so just "Trust the process" and great things will happen to those who wait and pray 😉

As I said a while ago;  I rendered 538 hours in my internship at Daniel O. Mercado Medical Center and I only have 132 hours left to finish my internship and my tentative end date of my internship is on March 30 or 31 2017. And that's it for Week 15 and make sure you visit and read my blog for more of my weekly experiences in my internship at Daniel O. Mercado Medical Center and also follow me on my social media accounts; the widgets are on the right side of my blog so make sure you hit the follow button and I'll see you all next week! Have a nice weekend everyone!! ✌

Week 14 - Be patient. Good things take time 😊

Hello everyone!! I hope everyone is having a good week and my blog entries are getting a lot of views as of late and I'm very happy with that because some people are reading my blog entries every week and I appreciate it as well so thank you guys! This is my 14th blog entry and I'm not skipping these blog entries (I'm very consistent 😄) because it's a requirement in our Internship class but for me it's not just a requirement but now I'm enjoying posting these blog entries every week. And now for this week, it's a productive week for me because I did a lot of tasks not just in the office but also outside the hospital. So without further ado, let's start this blog entry!

Last Monday, We organized a lecture for senior citizens at the City Hall of Tanauan and the lecture is all about eye diseases and heart diseases. For eye diseases, it's all about cataract, glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy. Dr. Glenn Carandang was the one who conducted a lecture for eye diseases and for heart diseases, Dra. Delas Llagas was the one who conducted the lecture. We set up everything that we need for the lecture (white screen, laptop, projector, foods and drinks). I learned some new things in the lecture most especially in the eye diseases. After the lecture we ate our lunch then we went back to DMMC.

Last Tuesday, Jayson and I printed some signage for nursing stations (because they requested it) and we went back and forth to the HR department because they have the laminating machine but the good thing is the people in the HR department are very nice (most especially Sir Ronnel 😂) and also I printed and cut some flyers for another lecture which held at Darasa, Tanauan City, Batangas. Last Wednesday we help Mam Maryl Lan to set up the meeting of the doctors at the conference room and also we had a monthly meeting with my co interns together with Sir Ronnel and he discussed about our remaining hours and also the MOA (Memorandum of Agreement) of the different schools. And after the meeting we went back to the conference room because the meeting was adjourned and we ate the remaining foods of the doctors at the conference room.

🚭

Foods at Conference room!! 😋

Last Thursday we conducted another lecture at Barangay Darasa and the lecture is all about Glaucoma because next week is Glaucoma Awareness Week (not sure) and Dra. Quino and Dr. Hidalgo were the ones who conducted the lecture for the senior citizens of Barangay Darasa. We gave them a lot of foods and drinks but still they are begging for more so that was the weirdest experience that we've encountered last Thursday. Friday morning I was at school because of the TOEIC orientation and practice test and Miss Anna gave some reminders for the remaining requirements that we should pass for the next 2 weeks and also I already seen my midterm grades in Internship 2 and Research Integration and I'm very thankful to God because I received good grades 😊

THANK YOU LORD! 😊

Be patient. Good things take time 😊 It's definitely true and it's March already and a lot of good things happened in the first 3 days of March. Good grades, productive week and I met a new friend ðŸ˜Š and also it's my birthmonth 😄 I hope that the happiness that I'm looking for will come right now in terms of academics, family and friends. But how about love? Hmm we'll see 😉

As of right now, I rendered 493 hours in my internship at Daniel O. Mercado Medical Center and I only have 177 hours left to finish my internship and my tentative end date of my internship is on April 4 or 5, 2017. And that's it for Week 14 and make sure you visit and read my blog for more of my weekly experiences in my internship at Daniel O. Mercado Medical Center and also follow me on my social media accounts; the widgets are on the right side of my blog so make sure you hit the follow button and I'll see you all next week!
