Week 9 - Motivation

Hello everyone!! I hope everyone is having a great week and here I am once again for another blog entry this week and actually this is my 9th blog entry which is so fast and it's already February next week so that means everyone is waiting for "Valentine's Day" but here I am waiting for graduation hahaha! 😂 but anyway we go back so this week was great and a lot of work as always but so far so good because it's for my own good and the reason I'm taking an internship is because I want to learn new things, gain experience, to prepare me to the real world and to adapt and overcome some challenges that I might encounter in near future. So let's start this blog entry right now...!

Monday. I was absent last Monday because I went to school to pass the copy of our thesis to the grammarian and I've waited for almost 6 hours just to meet the grammarian because they're all busy and the reason is because it's the 16th Foundation Week of LPU-Laguna so yes they're all busy last Monday (but all throughout the week they're all busy) but I successfully submitted our final revised thesis to our grammarian and now "No More Half Days" and I can work now for 8 hours straight everyday in my internship. Tuesday, our head Ms. Cris is still on Camarines Sur because of medical mission so what I did last Tuesday was I sorted a lot of medicines if they are expired already and the expiration date was 2018-2020 something like that and also I printed and cut some baby cards and Hepa B cards because the NICU need some of those.

Expiration date: 02/11/2019

On Wednesday the only work that I did was I encoded some old files in the Medical Director's Office since our head was not around, I worked on those because I want to do some work so that I can't fell asleep and I'll wait till 5:00 pm to finish encoding the old files. Thursday, I printed and cut some flyers and that flyers are for the blood donation this coming February 14th. So if you want to donate some blood then go to DMMC and that would be a big help for those patients who need some blood like AB (because it's hard to find). And after that I scanned some pictures of the employees and crop it to 1x1 because they need it to the Municipal Office of Tanauan City. I undergo OVERTIME for 2 hours just to finish editing pictures so that the next day they are ready to print.

ENCODING...

OLD FILES....

OVERTIME!!!! (I finished at 7:03 pm)
Friday. (TGIF!!!) My favorite day of the week because it's weekend!!! And what I did on Friday was I cut some parking receipts and stamped it with numbers in correct order and I scanned the remaining pictures of the employees because they're late and I cut the pictures. And also together with Ms. Leah we checked the televisions in the patients rooms and also in OPD clinics if they have a good signal or bad signal because if it's bad they'll gonna report it to the cable provider of DMMC.

Parking receipts....

And by the way, I'm on my 2nd month of my internship in Daniel O. Mercado Medical Center and the past 2 months were AWESOME. I've learned new things, developed my communications skills when I'm talking to the employees in person or through telephone and also I adapted the working environment since it's hospital so there are some tendencies that I might have virus or something like that but it's all good I can manage it. Since the start of my internship 2 months ago, I'm always motivated to work because when I graduated this is the next chapter that I'll gonna do. "WORKING" so right now I gotta stay motivated so that I'm the one who'll be benefited because I might absorb if my work ethic is good because "Motivation is a lot easier to keep when all is well, push yourself to stay driven through good times and bad." As of this week I already rendered 300 hours. YES 300 hours and I have 370 hours remaining to finish my internship.

Well that's it for Week 9 and make sure you visit and read my blog for more of my weekly experiences in my internship at Daniel O. Mercado Medical Center and also follow me on my social media accounts; the widgets are on the right side of my blog so make sure you hit the follow button and I'll see you all next week! Have a nice weekend everyone!! ✌

Week 8 - Sharing is caring

Hello everyone! Another week, another opportunity.. This week is all about giving, sharing and caring for those people who are hopeless and in need because of the recent typhoon "Nina" last December. Most of the people in Region 5 particularly in Bicol and Camarines Sur were the victims of the typhoon. Daniel O. Mercado Medical Center will have their medical mission at Camarines Sur on January 22-27, 2017 so let's start this blog entry! On Monday, there are a lot of donations coming from the doctors, nurses, and office employees in our office, in the HR department and also monetary donations. Then we carried the donations to the house of Dr. Dennis Mercado because it is near the hospital. It's kinda heavy so I used the trolley so that it will be easier for me to carry the donations to the house. And after we carried the donations we sort them out and classified the clothes whether it is for male, female and for kids and then we will put them on the sacks. It was really hard to sort out but these donations are for the typhoon victims so we need to do it for the community. Here are some photos of the donations;

Tuesday. Another day, donations just keeps coming and I carried them again to Dr. Dennis Mercado's house and sort it out and later in the afternoon I cut papers and that is the parking receipts and that's all for Tuesday. Moving on to Wednesday.  I only rendered 4 hours last Wednesday because I went to school with my thesis groupmates because we need to accomplish the requirements for the grammarian so that the requirements needed for the grammarian will be good to go and we will gonna pass our whole final copy of our research to the grammarian. Anyway last Wednesday, Ms Cris told us to buy Ralo's cassava cake and cheese. Jayson and I took a lot of time to find the exact location of Ralo's Cassava cake store in Tanauan. We went all over the CitiMart and we asked some people where Ralo's is located and a lady told us that it was at the bus station and we found it! A big thanks to the lady and now we bought 3 boxes of cassava cake and we went back to DMMC.

Tuesday. I cut some papers (parking receipts)
Wednesday. Finding the Ralo's Cassava cake store...
Finally! We found it!

😆

Thursday. It's a beautiful morning and I encode some medicines using MS Excel and those medicines are for the medical mission in Camarines Sur. Then after that I photocopy some memos and submitted some receipts to the accounting department. And in the afternoon Jayson and I carried the remaining donations (relief goods) to Dr. Dennis Mercado's house and sort it out. Moving on to Friday and probably this day was very indeed productive and exhausting day for me. First thing I did in the morning was I put the ointment to the the cups and it was so hard because there was an ointment which is sticky when you touched it and the other one is very slippery in hands and after that we went to WalterMart Tanauan and we bought some snacks for the doctors and nurses for their trip to Camarines Sur for the medical mission next week and after that we carried it to Dr. Dennis Mercado's house and we sort out the remaining donations and also we carried boxes of medicines for the medical mission. Friday was really indeed very tiring day but the good thing was free lunch and free miryenda 😊

Ointments!!!
This week was very exhausting and productive and I need some sleep because I only slept 5 hours everyday this week and I need to sleep more this weekend so that I can regain my energy that was consumed this week. But for the community programs like this, I'm willing to do to this because it is for the people who are in need and we need to give them some help because they were victimized by the typhoon Nina in the Bicol Region particularly in Camarines Sur that's why the title of this blog entry is "Sharing is caring" 😇.

As of this week, the number of hours that I rendered is 266 hours and the tentative end date of my internship is probably first week of April. Well that's it for Week 8 and make sure you visit and read my blog for more of my weekly experiences in my internship at Daniel O. Mercado Medical Center and also follow me on my social media accounts; the widgets are on the right side of my blog so make sure you hit the follow button and I'll see you all next week! Week 7 - Let's just say... Happiness!!!

Hello everyone! This week was so wonderful, blessed and unforgettable because there are a lot of happenings this week not only on my internship but also... you'll gonna find out later so let's start on Monday, It was raining outside and I forgot my umbrella so there's a chance that I might have a cold but luckily I don't have right now as of this moment 😊 but anyway we go back, It was just plain and simple work last Monday I put the remaining wines in the eco bags then Ms Cris and I distributed it to the remaining doctors clinics and also we distributed the desk calendars and that's it I call it a day for Monday. I only rendered 4 hours and the reason for that is I went to school with my groupmates in research to look for the panelists because they will check our revised thesis. We only printed the corrections so we have to go back on Wednesday to print the whole copy of our revised thesis. For Tuesday, I arrived at DMMC at exactly 7:40 am and while I'm waiting I played the game 2048. I'm very addicted to this game because all you have to do is to add the same numbers until you got the 2048 like for example (2+2 = 4+4 = 8+8 = 16 +16 = 32+32 = 64 +64 = 128+128 = 256+256 = 512+512 = 1024+1024 = 2048) plain and simple game but it's very fun 😆 anyway last Tuesday was a simple work I just organized folders in the cabinet, cut papers and I answered some calls from other departments and that's for Tuesday.

I was so damn close to get the 2048!!!

Wednesday. My favorite day this week! Even though I only rendered 4 hours because we went back to school to check to the panelists our revised thesis. I'll cut the story for a while, last Wednesday again plain and simple work I determined the number of medicines for the medical mission of DMMC in January 22-27 (I believe not sure about the exact date so I'm very sorry for that) at Camarines Norte. The one who were affected by Typhoon Nina.then after I determine the number of medicines, I listed them and put it in Microsoft Word and I passed it to Ms. Cris.

List of medicines for Medical mission

And after I passed it to Ms. Cris I call it a day for Wednesday at DMMC but I'm not done yet... like what I've said a while ago, I went to school with my thesis mates because we need our revised thesis to be checked by the panelists because the deadline of the certificate is on Saturday and that's our prelim exam. Here's what happen... NO MORE REVISIONS!!!!! WOOOOHHH!!!! All the panelists approved our revised thesis and we're going to pass it this Saturday. Wow, all of the hardwork and the sleepless nights are paid off!! There are ups and downs in our thesis but still we made it! I'm so damn proud of my groupmates because each of them contributed a lot. We're very thankful because we will now gonna focus on our internship, journal writing of the thesis and the remaining deadlines in Internship and Research Integration. I'm very thankful to God. He never failed me because I prayed to Him our thesis and He granted my prayers. Thank You Lord!!! One step closer to my dream!!!

Thank You Lord!!! 😇

Moving on to Thursday, I printed and cut baby cards and hepa cards for the babies then I passed it to NICU then after that I fixed and updated the schedules of the doctors (assigned room, local number and the days that they are available) and I folded the CSF for the customers/patients. And that's for Thursday.

I fixed and updated the schedules of doctors

The CSF (Customer Survey Form) for the patients

Fold it!!!!

And for Friday, Probably the productive day for me this week because I fixed the memos for the medical mission of DMMC at Camarines Sur then I distributed them to the doctors clinics then after that Ms. Cris instructed me to pass some papers to PSQMO and to the HR department and that's it for Friday.

For me this week was unforgettable because the highlight of this week was our thesis are now good to go and no more revisions!!! Let's just say, "Fall in love with the process and the results will come" so that all of the tasks in the office and also in school are finish on time and well I'm very blessed this week. All we have to do right now is to pass our revised thesis to our grammarian and focus on the remaining deadlines so that we can accomplish it and by that we're going to graduate this May!!! But currently I rendered 222 hours in my internship in DMMC and I hope I can finish it by the end of March or 1st week of April. I know that I can do this because God is with me all the time. Just PRAY and He will listen 😇

Well that's it for Week 7 and make sure you visit and read my blog for more of my weekly experiences in my internship at Daniel O. Mercado Medical Center and also follow me on my social media accounts; the widgets are on the right side of my blog so make sure you hit the follow button and I'll see you all next week! Week 6 - New Year, Same Goals!

Once again, Happy New Year fam! First week of 2017 was all good because New Year, fresh start and also new beginnings. Every year, there's "New Year, New me", "2017 please be good to me", "New Year, fresh start,"  Page 1 of 365.. etc, but for me every year, "NEW YEAR, SAME GOALS". Because one of my goals this year is to graduate and by the way it's 4 months away. "FOUR MONTHS". Can you believe that? Well yes I'm not dreaming' because it's one step closer but first I have to finish my internship and also our marketing research. Well this year I promised that this will be my year with accomplishments, happiness with no disappointments and problems (but small problems will do but not that big and serious). So let's start 2017 with some work!

Currently I'm on my sixth week of my internship in Daniel O. Mercado Medical Center in Tanauan City, Batangas and this week was not really productive because our department head Ms. Cris was absent from Tuesday to Thursday so like I did nothing for this week but still I'm motivated to work but our department head was absent so I'm not really productive this week. Monday was declared a holiday so no work for that day. Moving on Tuesday, There was an event in DMMC which is the unveiling of the new vision and mission of the hospital. I was assigned to be an usher to assist the patients to the directions where they will go and have their exit because they can't passed to the main hallway because there is an event. The event was a success and it lasted for 2 hours. And after that Ms. Marylan instructed me to type the "Doctors' on leave for the month of January-December 2017" and then after that she instructed me once again to photocopy the doctors' that are on leave for this week then I went to 4th floor and submitted it to PSQM and that's all for Tuesday.

The old vision and mission of DMMC
The new vision and mission of  DMMC
Wednesday and Thursday was literally not productive days for me this week. I've spent my 8 hours last Wednesday and Thursday visiting my blog and facebook *sigh* 😔 but still I stayed at the office for 8 hours 😂 but still I answer some calls from other departments and Sir Argel instructed me to photocopy a certificate for hospital purposes. Moving on to Friday suddenly Ms. Cris is now back at the office but first we attended the first Friday mass at the chapel and after that we organized a meeting at the conference room. We set up the laptop, the projector and the foods of the doctors in the meeting. And after the meeting I distributed some desk calendars to the Emergency Room, HMO, Drug Test, Heart Station, Cashier, Information, Radiology and to the Nurse Stations. And that's a wrap for Friday.

This week was not a productive week for me but still I'm expecting that next week will be productive because Ms. Cris is back and we're all busy again in the office because vacation is over, welcome back to work. Currently I incur 190 hours in my internship and I still have 480 hours left to finish my internship which is all good and I'll end this entry with some quote let's just say, "You'll never know what will come your way, and that's the beauty of it." 😉

That's all for Week 6! Make sure you visit and read my blog for my weekly experiences in my internship and follow me on Twitter and Instagram (the widgets are on the right side of the blog) so please hit the follow button. I'll see you all on Week 7 and once again, Happy New Year everyone! God bless! 😊

Week 5 - All of a sudden working on holidays

First of all, Happy New Year fam! I hope everyone enjoyed the holidays but for me, I enjoyed my holiday season (not really) because I'm at the office last December 28 and 29. Instead of sleeping at my room and eat a lot, I went to DMMC to work because I don't want to waste my time because 670 hours is no joke. But then I realized that it's only 2 days so why not spend my little time at the office and do some work so that at the beginning of 2017 I already done with it. So here we go, last December 28, 2016 I arrived at DMMC at exactly 7:25 am that was my earliest time that I've arrived because there was no traffic at all and it was good to be honest. Anyway were done on the brochure that we conceptualized 2 weeks ago. So here are the photos:

Jayson was the one who is good at photoshop so he nailed it! Very nice 👏👍
                         The actual brochure
The content of the brochure (I made it 😊)
For almost 2 weeks we conceptualized on how we'll gonna do this brochure. It took 2 weeks because we don't have a photoshop in our computer and also we're busy with other things. But then with teamwork and dedication we finished the brochure and I hope our head Ms Cris will gonna like this when she's back this Friday. Then when we're done with the brochure the rest of the time we played snakes and ladder because were bored and I lost 4 consecutive times. (I took some Ls out there) and then after that we called it a day. December 29, 2016. We distributed the desk calendars in accounting department and in business office and then after that we didn't finished the 8 hours because we're all finished with other things and we stayed at DMMC only for 4 hours (8 am-12 nn = HALF DAY 😁)

Week 5 was only 2 days of work last December 28-29, 2016 because it is holiday season all of the people are on vacation celebrating with their family, friends, etc. but for me I need to work on those days because like what I've said a while ago, I don't want to waste my time because I need to work and grind so that I can finish my internship as early as possible. I had some realizations first one is that this is the feeling of being an employee working on a holiday. No break just work (although you can file a leave of absence) second is that our professors are right. You will gonna miss being a student because as a student you have a vacation but as an employee? No vacation on holidays. That was my realizations during the holidays. "YOU SACRIFICE HOLIDAYS. YOU WILL BE WORKING WHEN EVERYONE IS HAVING FUN" Oh and by the way it's my first month here in DMMC as an intern! ☺

That's all for Week 5 make sure you visit and read my blog for more of my weekly experiences in my internship in DMMC and also follow me on my social media accounts (Twitter and Instagram) the widgets are on the right side of the blog so make sure you hit that follow button. I'll see you on Week 6! Goodbye and Happy New Year everyone!!!! 😊
